-{ Action Life Management }-

Action Life Management starts you out thinking about your Life Vision- who do you want to become in life? What is your overall life vision? You are invited to write it out in a few sentences.

Then, if you wish, you can enter your assets: including financial, educational, skills/talents/gifts, people in your life, and work experiences.

Next, you enter your dreams - what do you want to accomplish or have in life in connection with your Life Vision? This could be to perform on Broadway, to have a friendship with your family, or to create a successful new app.

Next, for each dream there are goals. So you set goals for yourself using the S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting method in accordance with each dream. Goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. You can select how many months or years you expect each goal to take.

Once you have your goals, you move on to the action plan for each goal - how are you going to break it down into blocking out a certain amount of time each day or week to work on that goal? When is your best time of day for each action plan element? Morning? Midday? Evening? What days of the week will you work on each action step?

Finally, we break it down into a schedule in a calendar account you have on your iPhone (note: Gmail calendar accounts do NOT allow multiple calendars on one account and will not work with this App. iCloud accounts are preferred.), with new calendars for each dream (color-coded) and the schedule made automatically by the App.

Once scheduled, the action plan is locked. If there are scheduling conflicts, the offending action plan step(s) turn red and are editable and can be modified to fit the schedule more effectively.

The App currently does not take into account any of your other calendars as on or off (busy or not busy) times, but this feature is planned for the future.

In the settings screen, you can select when you plan to start your day, when you plan to go to bed, how much sleep you will get, and how long your active day will be, in 45-minute increments.

You can also reset your schedule and remove all dream calendars from your Calendar App, allowing you to go back into your action plans and remap your schedule as you please.

The App splits up your day into 3 evenly distributed periods from wake-up to bedtime: morning, midday, and night.

If you have too much activity planned for the amount of time allotted, the App will let you know when you click the "Action Plan To Schedule!" button, but this is usually caught early in the action plan screen with the particular action plan turning red.

Your starting date will contain all the scheduled times for that action plan, regardless of their repeat days - so you can see how they overlap over an entire week. The following days' activities are separated out according to the days of the week you selected for each action step.

All information is stored locally on your iPhone and is not shared with anyone - unless you decide to share your calendar(s), then obviously others will have access to your schedule - but nothing in the App itself shares any information with anyone, including me.

If your local iPhone data is stored/backed up in the cloud, then your Action Life Management information is also stored in the cloud.

Remember to hit the big blue "Done" button (Return on a keyboard) when you're done typing out anything in a text field while using Action Life Management so that it saves your responses in the local database. Simply navigating away from the text field after entering some text will not result in a save.
